Commons Volunteer Opportunities for Residents and Owners

Volunteers help the board of directors share in the responsibilities of maintaining a well functioning association, while offering members an opportunity to meet neighbors, reduce stress, and contribute to our community. Thank you for considering one of these fun opportunities and thank you to those who already generously give their time!

Water Entrance Area Plants - Time commitment: 15 minutes per week during summer months

Description: Watering with hose is provided. Will demonstrate.

Weed Beds Along June Road - FILLED - Time commitment: 30 minutes weekly during summer months

Description: Weed the beds along the Commons fence on June Rd.

Weed Fuchsia Loop Common Area - FILLED - Time commitment: 30 minutes weekly during summer

Description: Weed around plantings

Weed Community Board Common Area - Time commitment: 30 minutes weekly during summer

Description: Weed around plantings

Participate in Community Clean-Ups - Time commitment: 60 minutes once a year

Description: Weed along our split rail fencing, pick up wetland debris

Weed Kodiak Lane Common Areas - FILLED - Time commitment: 30 minutes weekly during summer

Description: Weed around plantings

Cut Blackberry Plants - Time commitment: 30 minutes weekly during summer months

Description: Cut blackberry plants that intrude on sidewalks and roads

Print and Mail - Ongoing - Time commitment: 60 minutes per mailing

Description: Print and mail materials for owner distribution, all costs reimbursed

Contribute Articles to Newsletter - Ongoing - Time commitment: Upon availability

Description: Write an interesting article for Commons homeowners

Welcome New Owners - Time commitment: As new owners move into the community

Description: Join the Hospitality Team to welcome new residents

Join the Board of Directors - ONGOING

Time commitment: 60 minutes on average per month, commitment of 1 or 2 years

Description: Join a dynamic team of homeowners who manage and operate the association

Wetlands Inspectors - FILLED - Time commitment: 30 minutes monthly

Description: Inspect buffers and wetlands for water management and native plantings

Plant in the Wetlands - Time commitment: Upon availability from October 31 to May 1

Description: Assist in the planting of native plantings in the wetlands and buffers to prevent soil erosion

Maintain Roads, Sidewalks, Wetlands - Time commitment: 20 minutes per month

Description: After storms in particular, pick up road, sidewalk and wetland debris

Maintain the Community Board - Time commitment: 15 minutes per month

Description: Rotate articles and information on the board, report maintenance needs

Help with the Summer Party - Time commitment: As needed

Description: Assist with marketing, coordination and facilitation of party

Help with Summer Garage Sale - Time commitment: 60 minutes for one day during sale

Description: Direct traffic to help traffic in the community move smoothly

Recruit for Board - Ongoing

Description: Talk with new owners who show an interest in protecting our community’s well-being

Research Projects - Time commitment: As needed

Description: Work with the board to find vendors and solutions to challenges in our community

Webmaster - FILLED - Time commitment: Ongoing

Description: Manage our website, post board meetings and events happening in the Commons

Webmaster Assistant - Time commitment: As needed
